Born in 1988, Andrew Brush grew up in Delaware, Ohio. Andrew attended the Delaware City Schools from the 1st through the 10th grade, and graduated from Columbus Academy with the class of 2006.
Andrew served on the Delaware City Council from 2007 through 2015. Andrew was first elected in 2007, winning a hotly contested six-way race. At 19 years old, Andrew was the youngest elected official in the state of Ohio. Andrew was reelected to a second four-year term in 2011 with 63% of the vote. Andrew also served on the Delaware County Republican Party’s Executive Committee from 2014-2015, where he overhauled the party’s website and email communications. After eight successful and productive years in local politics, Andrew decided not to run for reelection in 2015.
Following his tenure on city council, Andrew formed Brush Strategic Ltd., a political consultancy focused on the Delaware County political market.
Along with longtime friend and business partner, Paul Milligan, Andrew co-founded Best Light Video in 2008. Based in downtown Columbus, Ohio, award-winning Best Light Video offers video production, motion graphics & animation, and other media and creative services to a variety of clients including advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
In 2017, Andrew and Paul formed Brilligan Properties Ltd., a real estate holding and investment company focused on the Columbus, Ohio market.
In 2020, Andrew partnered with two other entrepreneurs to create The Trades Institute, an e-learning startup providing online continuing education to people in the skilled trades. The Trades Institute currently operates in Ohio and North Carolina, with plans for a 50-state rollout in the coming years.
Andrew enjoys traveling, and has visited over a dozen countries across four continents. Andrew lives with his wife Nazlı in the German Village neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio.
